Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally is a distinguished Sierra Leonean politician, experienced public servant, and seasoned business leader with decades of service in both government and the private sector. A native of Moyamba District in the Southern Region, he began his public service as a Member of Parliament (2002–2007), representing his constituency and advocating for development, governance reforms, and improved legislative outcomes. Over the years, he built strong relationships across the political landscape and became a respected voice within Sierra Leone’s political discourse. 

 

In his ministerial career, Hon. Tarawally held key leadership positions in the Government of Sierra Leone, including Minister of Internal Affairs (2010–2013) and Minister of Lands, Country Planning and the Environment. In these roles, he championed substantive reforms in security sector management, land policy, and national planning, overseeing initiatives to strengthen law enforcement mechanisms, modernize security institutions, and implement effective land administration systems that safeguarded public assets and enhanced sustainable development. 

 

Beyond his government service, Hon. Tarawally is known for his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to socio-economic progress. His business ventures have spanned construction, investment consultancy, and regional enterprise development, contributing to job creation and economic partnerships across West Africa. As a public figure, he continues to engage in national issues — from advocating stronger responses to societal challenges like youth drug abuse to building coalitions for inclusive leadership in Sierra Leone’s future.
